How to get your Stocky data out, now that Stocky has shut down

Stocky went dark on September 1, 2026 at 12:00 UTC, by its own notice. What is left in its place is a deprecation page with one button on it, Request data export. Shopify's statement is that read only export access lasts at least 90 days after the shutdown. That puts the end of the window around November 30, 2026.

So the list below is no longer a sitting you schedule. It is what to check you actually received once the export lands, and what was never in it to begin with.

What the export should contain

Each of these used to be a separate report and a separate CSV inside the app, so that is the shape to expect in the archive that comes back. Check for all of them:

The one with no export button: suppliers. Stocky never had a supplier export, and the screen you would have copied them from does not open any more. That is the one thing nobody checks until they go looking for a vendor's email and find there is nowhere left to look. It is recoverable, just not from Stocky: past invoices carry the terms, the email thread where you agreed them carries the contact, and the supplier column on your exported purchase orders carries the names to work through.

Do these three things when the export arrives

  1. Put everything in one folder, then copy that folder somewhere else. Cloud storage, another drive, anywhere that is not the same laptop. Do this before you start picking through it.
  2. Open two or three of the CSVs. Confirm they actually contain rows. An export that silently produced a header and nothing else is a real failure mode, and the window to ask about it is the one closing.
  3. Check the list above against what actually arrived. A missing report is worth chasing now. In six months, when a supplier disputes a price, there is nobody left to chase.

What this data is actually for

Two things, and it is worth being clear about which. Purchase order history and stocktakes are mostly records: you keep them for accounting, for supplier disputes and for answering "what did we pay for this in March". Cost data and supplier details are operational: you need them the first week you order stock without Stocky. If the export is thin, costs are the ones to reconstruct first.

Nothing here migrates into Shopify admin on its own. Native purchase orders and transfers start empty, and no import brings your Stocky history into them.
