Privacy Policy

AK: PO & Barcode Label Printer (the "App") is a Shopify app that prints barcode labels from purchase order files, inventory transfers, and product selections. This policy explains what data the App touches and what happens to it. Last updated: October 12, 2026.

Data we access

When you use the App, it reads the following from your Shopify store, on demand, to do its job:

• Product and variant details: titles, SKUs, barcodes, and prices, used to render your labels.
• Inventory transfers: names, locations, statuses, and line items, used for the Transfers print screen.
• Only after you allow it on the Transfers screen: purchase orders (their numbers, the transfers made from them, their supplier and each line's supplier SKU), used to find a transfer by its purchase order number and to print the supplier and supplier code, and the shipments of a transfer (units accepted on receiving), used to print labels for the accepted units.
• Only after you allow it, for printing by location: your locations and their stock levels, used to print as many labels as a location holds. Printing by location reads your locations' names and stock levels, never their addresses or phone numbers.
• Your shop name and currency, printed on labels if you choose.

Two features ask Shopify for one more permission each, and only when you turn them on. The code generator asks to edit products, then writes only the barcodes and SKUs you approve in its preview, keeps a record of each change so you can undo it, and changes nothing else. Receiving by scan asks to receive inventory shipments, then records only the units you confirm on its screen. Shopify cannot undo a receipt, so the app asks you to confirm the counts first.

Data we store

• Your shop domain, app settings (default label preset and field choices), and authentication tokens needed to serve the embedded app.
• Print history: a snapshot of each print job (product titles, SKUs, barcodes, prices, suppliers and supplier codes, quantities) so you can re-download past jobs exactly as printed. You can delete any of them from History.
• A monthly count of the labels you make, used for plan limits.
• The code generator's record of each run: the variants it changed, with their barcodes and SKUs before and after, so you can undo the run.
• Receipts from the scan station: the transfer, the units received on each line and when, so you can print their labels again.
• Product images on a label, saved with that print job so a reprint matches it.
• The name of each staff member who opens the app and whether they own the store, used for the staff permissions you set. No email address is kept.
• API keys you create, kept only in a scrambled form that cannot be turned back into the key.
• Messages you send from Help, with the email address you give for the reply.
• Print station jobs from Shopify Flow, until they print.
• Files downloaded in the Shopify mobile app are held in memory for up to 10 minutes and are not saved to disk or backups.

Data we do not collect

The App does not read, store, or process customer personal data, orders, or payment information. Billing runs entirely through Shopify's billing system; we never see a payment method.

Retention and deletion

Uninstalling the App deletes your sessions at once. Your settings, saved templates, print history, code generator records, receipts, staff names, API keys, messages, station jobs and usage counters are kept until Shopify sends its shop redaction request, about 48 hours after uninstall, and are deleted then, so reinstalling inside that window picks up where you left off. If you have reinstalled and opened the App by the time the request arrives, nothing is deleted. One thing outlives that request if your store used free-plan labels that month: a one-way scrambled form of your store's myshopify.com address with the number of free labels used, so reinstalling cannot reset the monthly free allowance. It holds nothing else and is deleted after that month ends. We answer Shopify's GDPR webhooks (customers/data_request, customers/redact, shop/redact); since we hold no customer personal data, the customer requests have nothing to return or erase.

The App's database is copied continuously and backed up every night. Whatever is deleted from it, by you or by Shopify's redaction request, is erased from every backup at the next nightly backup. Everything else in a backup is deleted after 14 days.

Third parties

The App runs on commercial hosting infrastructure. Your data is not sold, rented, or shared with anyone, and is only processed to provide the App's features.

The App Store listing

The App's page on the Shopify App Store uses Google Analytics, through the tracking Shopify offers app developers, to count visits to that page, Install clicks and installs, with the App Store search and position that led to them. For an install, Shopify includes the store's name and myshopify address. Shopify runs that page under its own privacy policy. Nothing from inside the App (your products, labels or print history) goes to Google Analytics.
